Personal well-being consists of many individuals, yet connected parts. A crucial aspect of an individual’s happiness, wellness and – in many aspects of life – success, relates to their capability and competence to maintain positive interactions with others and traverse complex social situations. This may include everyday interactions with friends, family, acquaintances and colleagues, as well as more stressful conflict situations which could impact on an individual’s overall resilience.
This course focuses on social well-being. You will learn about the science behind building relationships, communicating effectively in different situations and dealing with conflict in an assertive and constructive manner. The topic of social intelligence is also discussed and underpins many of the learnings in this course. Social intelligence has also been proven to have a significant impact on well-being and career success.
